Purchase this to ensure that your plants arrive happy and healthy or your money back!

One purchase of Shipping Insurance covers either 1 plant or up to 6 plants on an order depending on which level of insurance you choose.

Shipping plants in the mail can result in damages (especially if they will be travelling across the country). With this you can rest easy!

It's about as uncomplicated as it gets: purchase this with your plants and we will refund any insured plants that arrive damaged. It's that simple!

Are all plants covered by Shipping Insurance?

No. Some plants are too sensitive to ship without suffering serious damage regardless of how well they're packaged or how far they're traveling. The following plants are not covered by Shipping Insurance:

  • Begonia
  • Calathea
  • Coffea
  • Peperomia
  • Carnivorous plants of any variety
  • Albuca
  • "String of ______" succulents
  • Tradescantia
  • Spathiphyllum
  • Ferns of any variety
  • Ficus
  • Homalomena
  • Orchids
  • Colocasia
  • Alocasia
  • Streptocarpus

Rare plants of any kind are also not covered by Shipping Insurance. Whether a plant is classified as rare or not is indicated on its product page.

What happens if I don't purchase Shipping Insurance with my plants?

Without insurance: if your plant arrives with pests or root rot we will refund or replace your plant. For all other damages your plant will not be refunded, replaced, or discounted. We're always happy to offer any knowledge you need to nurse a plant back to health!

What happens if I purchase Shipping Insurance?

With insurance: your plants are completely covered! We will refund or replace any plants that arrive with health-threatening damage caused by their time in transit. Cosmetic damage is normal when shipping plants and should be expected, but after purchasing Shipping Insurance you can rest easy knowing that no matter what happens you will receive a living plant!

Oops! I forgot to purchase Shipping Insurance with my order. Can I still add it?

Sure thing! You can add Shipping Insurance to your order within 24 hours of checkout. Just purchase Shipping Insurance in a separate order and send an email to to let us know!

I changed my mind - is this item refundable?

Shipping Insurance is not available for refund.

Can I combine two orders with Shipping Insurance?

Yes! As per our standard protocol, the shipping cost of one of the orders will be refunded when two orders are combined. However, because Shipping Insurance is non-refundable, two orders with Shipping Insurance purchased will combine into one order with up to the sum of the two Shipping Insurances coverage combined (for example, if you purchased two Shipping Insurances to cover up to 6 plants each then the combined order will cover up to 12 plants).

How do I file a claim?

It's very simple! Just send a photo of the damaged plants to within 48 hours of delivery and we will begin the process with you. We ask that you please review our Refund Policy page before filing your claim to best inform you about our claims process.
