Best and Worst Plants for Kids & Pets

Best and Worst Plants for Kids & Pets

For households with pets or little ones running around, choosing the right plant comes with a few extra considerations. Many new plant parents are disappointed to learn that several popular houseplants can have toxic side effects when consumed. The good news is that creating the lush home of your dreams that is still safe for pets and children is absolutely possible!

While this list will give you a general sense of what is and isn’t safe, it’s always a good idea to consult your doctor or your vet and tell them about the plants you have in the house. They will be able to give you more detailed information on the possible dangers of each plant and the threshold for toxicity. Use common sense and move plants to where children and pets can’t reach them.
