Kangeroo Paw Ferns are named after their flowers, which resemble kangaroo paws! Their leaves are unusual for a fern, featuring both entire and deeply indented leaves, making this fern a unique addition to any collection.
Mature leaves are deeply indented, while younger leaves are entire. Fronds form at the base of this plant (remove any dead ones as they form).
Lighting: Medium indirect light.
Water: Keep soil moist, but do not allow for standing water. Mist frequently.
Soil/Potting: Plant in a well draining soil in a container with a drainage hole and made of slightly porous material like ceramic or sealed concrete. Repot annually or when plant exhibits discoloration without the presence of any mis-watering habits.
Fertilize: Fertilize monthly with bacterial inoculant.
Temperature: Room temp (55-85 degrees is ideal). Protect it from harsh fluctuations in temperature particularly in the winter.
Toxicity: This plant is non-toxic, but will cause vomiting in pets if consumed in large quantities.
