Calathea, a member of the Marantaceae family (cousin to Marantas), have beautifully patterned foliage that can elevate your urban jungle homes. Native to tropical Americas and is known for their decorative leaves.
The cool thing about Calathea is that they have highly photosensitive leaves. Their leaves lay flat in the morning to absorb sunlight and fold up in the evening. They have the similar behavior as the Maranta.

- Sensitive to mineralized water (use filtered or distilled)
- Medium to bright (indirect light)
- Water when top 1 inch of soil is dry
