We’re looking for someone great to join our team! Seeking a kind, friendly individual with great interpersonal, customer service skills, and creative energy! Plant knowledge is nice but not necessary! We will teach and train the right individual. Job duties will include a combination of customer service, plant care, shop upkeep, an assortment of skill specific tasks, and the ability and willingness to learn in a variety of other areas of small business operations and growth. Being in a small business is all about carefully cultivating a team of hard working, motivated individuals who come together to build a community around a message driven by passion and dedication. We are looking for someone with a flexible schedule who is willing to work a combination of weekday, evening, and weekend shifts. Scheduling is flexible. Position starts as heavy part time with rapid progression into full time if desired. Seasonal job interest need not apply.

We are a fast growing specialty retailer of indoor plants with a focus on organics, and a strong emphasis on support / plant education. The shop was founded in 2015, and has been operating out of our downtown Renton location since 2016. We offer a variety of resources and services to our customers including, public and private workshops, online and text plant support, subscriptions, plant sourcing, product development, interactive learning segments and more!

Requirements:

  1. 2+ years of customer service in any field
  2. Excellent interpersonal and direct communication skills
  3. Ability to balance quality, accuracy and efficiency throughout the work day
  4. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  5. Ability to follow direction, with attention to details
  6. Ability to transition smoothly between tasks
  7. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
  8. Ability to give and receive feedback
  9. Willingness to ask for help when needed
  10. Willingness to learn, grow, and work with a small team
  11. Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop

Plusses:

  • Previous experience working for a small business
  • Plant knowledge a plus, but not a requirement
  • Experience working in high volume customer service a plus
  • Experience in education or leading groups in a learning environment

Compensation:

$12 - $15 hourly to start DOE + tips with regular advancement opportunities
