The Rose of Jericho is also called Resurrection Plant because of its ability to seemingly come back to life after extreme dehydration. It is native to the deserts of the southwestern United States It appears to be a small dry ball until spring rains when the Rose of Jericho unfurls. You'll love watching your Rose of Jericho come back to life. To plant, fill a container that has no drainage holes with 2 to 4 inches of gravel and fill until water is just covering the rocks, then place the Rose of Jericho so the roots are resting in the water. Your plant will open initially, but curl back into a ball after its exhausted its internal moisture content. If water is consistently added to the container, the "rose" will re-open in a few weeks.
