Begonias are some of the easiest indoor plants around, and the color plays of their leaves on top of the textured elements bring a warm, interesting point to any collection.
This plant will focus on putting out leaves and enlarging them while keeping the stems small, and you'll notice a distinct texture to the leaves as well as their unusual coloring. Expect cute little flowers during the blooming season!
Propogate easily by placing a cutting in water and allowing to root.
Lighting: Medium to bright indirect light.
Water: Allow soil to dry out between waterings, but not to the point of drought conditions. Mist your begonias occasionaly.
Soil/Potting: Plant in a rich, organic, well draining soil in a container with a drainage hole and made of slightly porous material like ceramic or sealed concrete. Repot annually or when plant exhibits discoloration without the presence of any mis-watering habits.
Fertilize: Monthly with bacterial inoculant recommended for steady growth and to promote richer coloration in the foliage.
Temperature: Room temp (60-85 degrees is ideal), protect from harsh fluctuations in temperature particularly in the winter.
Toxicity: Unsafe for consumption in pets and humans.
